NAPIER PARK RACES.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Napier, last night. Fine weather favored the Napier Park Racing Club for the first day of their Spring Meeting. The course was in perfect order, and fast times were the order of the day. Thu racing was interesting, several of the finishes being close. The sum of X 4535 was invested on the totalisators, the largest dividend being Xl6 9s, on Draktnsburg in tiie Nursery Handicap. The following are the results:

POVERTY BAY TURF CLUB. Handicaps in connection with the Poverty Bay Turf Club's Spring Meeting, to tie held on Thursday and Friday next, ire due to-day. A record gathering is ooked for, and the Secretary, Mr J. M. Jumining, is working like a Trojan to issurc a pleasant and enjoyable gathering. Jll extension is being carried out to the otalisator house, and this year two totaliators will be at work, one machine for he inside and the other for the outside, this will avoid anything like a block durlg a period of heavy investment. Tho ourse is looking well, and is in first-class rder. Larger entries have been received lis year, and some big fields are expected ] face the starter.
