WANGANUI CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.

Wanganui, last night.

At a meeting of the Caledonian Society to-night, a resolution of sympathy was passed re deaths of Mr \V. I'. Stuart, local Highlander, and Mr -J. S. McKenzie. The latter resolution was proposed by Mill. C. Bruce, wiio expressed deep sorrow at the premature removal of their {brillant countryman, and of the great loss New Zealand sustained in the death of one whose great abilities, high character, and lofty ideals shop lustre upon the colony and exercised an elevating influence upon die tone of its National Councils.
