The members who opposed the leimbut cement to the Governor oi the sum of £2250 expended by him at the desire of the Government. achieved nothing more by their opposition than to make the country feel mean, and the heads of the colony and the Government uncomfortable. At the same time, their squabbling has increased the expense bv waste of valuable time. They cost money, those debates, and while the country may at times benefit hy acrid dispute, certainly the experience gained by the expenditure oi frothy words and good hard cash is hardly the kind of experience we want. —Free Lance.
