Sir Thomas responded with several graeei lul acknowledgment saying how greatly' flattered he felt at being the guest of such a yachting club as the Seawanhaka. As Sir Thomas seated himself, Colonel lioosevelt arose, stating that he wanted to say just one word. - Within a few days,” said Col. Uooscvclt, it will be lifty years since the America Cup came to this side of the Atlantic. I wonder if any of us appreciate or give full credit to the sportsmanlike spirit and the indomitable energy of the men who, throughout those years, have been coming to these shores time and time again, undaunted by previous failures, to take back the cup.”
