Omar Jan, the late Ameer’s youngest son, is understood to have influenced his brothers secretly to leave Kabul. Reuter's Agency report that orders have been received by tbo military authorities at Peshawar to immediately mobilise two field hospitals. No explanation having been vouchsafed, the message is variously commented upon. Some minimise tho importance of the incident, and attribute it to tlte usual tribal troubles and sporadic raids on tho north-west frontier, having no connection with the Afghan question, Bombay, Get. 14. Afghanistan is quiet. Russia professes to be reassured. The flags were half-masted throughout India, and many ceremonies were posfcpaned in honor of the late Ameer, with a view of impressing the natives of the reality of the alliance between Jxngland and Afghanistan.
