THE WAR IN SOUTH AFRICA.
(To the Editor of the Timms ) ■Sit;,—The cry of thousands of British people throughout the world has been for s011 !e time, flow long shall the war continue, and our brat est and best fathers, sons, and brothers be sacrificed V Has Lord Kitchener full control of affairs ? It so. whv does he not allow the sentence of death to be carried out speedily in all cases'? Why docs he not cause the Boer women withtlieir children (who arc and have been for months housed, fed, and clothed better than the loyalist women and children, and at British expense) to be sent to their commandants' laagers, and throw the burden and expense of their safe-keeping, housing, and feeding upon their own 'people If this were done, aye even now. the Boer wav would bo at an end in a very short time : but so sure as the present arrangements are kept going so long will the war continue.
