The j heavy rain last night and this morning j rendered the course heavy, but despite the j unfavorable weather there was a large 1 attendance. Tiie following are the re- j suits ;

Emo Hurdles : Rackstraw 1, Tatier 2, A\ allop Bc-loka 3. Twelve started. Betting :,7 to 1 Raekshaw. Won easily. Time 4.37. Caulfield Stakes: Wakeful 1, Hymottus 2, Australian Colors 3. Seven others ran. Betting: Even on Sequence. 3to 1 Wakeful. Trie hatter led from shortly after the start, and was never headed again. Won > easily by six lengths. Time 1.58-L

Caulfield Guineas : Ibex I, Haymaker 2, Grasspa n 3. Other starters : Hautvilliers, C orsican, and C’arome). Betting: Ten to 1 on Hautvilliers, 4 to 1 against I Ibex. It was a splendid race down the straight between the placc-d horses, Ibex j winning by a length, there being a head J between second and third horses. The j favorite was fourth. Time 1.46 J. Riugwood Steeplechase : Arcadia 1. | Orthez 2, Aloha 3. Fifteen startod. Time j 4.01.

Debutante Stakes : Heloise 4, Brakpan 2, Niphetos 3. Betting: 6 to 1 against Heloise. Won easily by two lengths. Time -70 sees.

Tuurak Handicap : Bonnie duel 1, Blunderer 2, Miltiudes 3. All started but Sequence and Wakeful. Won all the way.

Gauleon and Rock Gun did a mile in LuO, Light Brigade twelve furlongs on the tail in 2.74. Flagship and San Frail were sent over eleven furlongs in 2.34. Wakeful was backed' for the Caulfield Cup to the extent of .£3OOO, and and she now rules favorites at 9to 1; 12 to lis about Hymottus, while Graspan and Ampier arc at 44 to 1, George Frederick 20 to 1. Two thousand to 90 has been accepted about Combat. Honeybee has also been backed.
