A COLLISION

STEAMER INDRALEVI RUNS DOWN A SCHOONER,

[by telegraph—raEss association.] Christchurch, last night,

A collision occurred about half-past ten o’clock last night between the Tyser steamer lndradevi and the schooner Lily, and resulted in considerable damage to the latter vessel. The accident happened about twenty miles to the northward of the Lyttelton Heads, the steamship being at the time on her way to this port, from Wanganui, while the schooner was bound from Lyttelton to Greymouth. The bowsprit of the Lily was smashed, and her stern was badly splintered by the collision, but the steamer was uninjured. Captain Trotter, of lndradevi, picked up the injured vessel, and towed her into Lyttelton, arriving at a quarter past seven o’clock this morning.
