A DJiLDGE MAST Eli DKOWNED. [By Telegraph—Press Association.] Dunedin, last night. Alexander McLean, dredge master of the hirst Chance dredge, was drowned today in the Molyneux. lie had paid of! the crew, and was arranging to leave the dredge in charge of the engineer, when he slipped overboard. He appeared to be swimming strongly when he threw up his hands and sank. COM PAN V IN LIQCIJ >ATIoN. The shareholders of the Golden Channel Company have decided to wind-up voluntarily. The charges of Sunday trading brought by the police against the licensees of the Kensington Hotel and Shade’s were dismissed. In the hist case the contention that agency was not proved was upheld, and in the second case tiie Magistrate was in doubt and gave licensee the benefit.
