GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. At the golf championship meeting today’s play consisted of the Bogey Foursomes Handicap, lfj holes. For this event two pairs of players tied for first place, Gillies and Gillies (Auckland), handicap one, and liuncan and Duncan (’Wellington), handicap three, their scores being one up. Iliggiuson and Ilodson (Wellington), handicap 7, were second their scores being all square.
GISBORNE REPRESENTATIVE DEFEATED FOR CHAMPIONSHIP. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, last night. At tho golf tournament, in tho Bogey Handicap, A. Duncan (scratch) and Pare Keiha (handicap 4) tied for first place, both being one down to bogey. The semi-final for the championship of New Zealand resulted in A. Duncan (AVellington) beating Bull (Gisborne) by 0 up and 4 to play ; AV. B. Colbeck (Auckland) beat 11. T. Gillies (Auckland) 2 up and 1 to play. Duncan and Colbeck play a final cf 86 holes to-morrow.
