FILIPINOS KILL 18. ONLY 21 MEN ESCAPE. STORES AND AMMUNITION CAPTURED. By Telegraph—Tress Association- Copyright Manila, Sept. 80. ' force of Filipinos, at the island of Samar, made an attack on a company of American infantry.

The Americans were breakfasting at the time, and were apparently taken unawares.

The attacking force was a larger ono than those attacked. The Filipinos overwhelmed the Americans, there being forty eight of the latter killed, and eleven Vj[ere wounded. Only twenty-four of tlio Americans escaped. The Filipinos captured tlio stores and ammunition.
