ATTACKS CONSTABLE, BREAKS HANDCUFFS, AND LEAPS, FROM TRAIN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. A constable who was conveying a lunatic from Hastings to Wellington, had a startling experience. When the train reached a tunnel near EkctaJiuna, tho lunatic violently assaulted the constable, burst the handcuffs, and leaped ofl tho train. The lunatic was subsequently recapture by the police from Masterton. The constablo in charge was considerably knocked about, but is not thought to bo seriously injured.
