A farmer has been arrested for giving false information, enabling the Boers to cross. Fifth Northumberland Fusiliers on the night of the 18th left Licbtcnburg to surprise a farm at Driksfontein, expecting to capture Dolarey and his staff. They rushed the farm at daybreak, capturing I eleven men. Dclaroy fled ovorniglit. There is a grave outbreak of serious crimes at Capetown. A number of murders and burglaries have been committed. Lord Kitchener has congratulated tho Governor of Natal on the ready vespouso made by Natal for volunteers. Commandant Malan obtained many recruits in the Sutherland district of Natal. The volunteers were scut to Grcytown too late. Of 35 field artillery, seven were killed and four severely wounded. Lovat’s Corps had nine killed, one dangerously wounded, 2“ severely, and six slightly. Colonel Gough reports an additional missing of 33 belonging to the 69th Battery of Field Artillery, and three others.
BOTHA'S MOVB?, ENTS. By Telegraph—Pres; Association—Copyright London, Sopt. 20. Ten leaders, captured since the 15th, have been sentenced at Pretoria to permanent banishment. Botha, with a large force, quitted tho vicinity of Dokoigcr’s Drift, and is encamped on the Transvaal side of the Ukaudhi Hills.

Grant, of the 12th Lancers, entering Schteper's laager alono on tho night of the 23rd, summoned tho Boers to surrender. Throe complied with Lieut. Grant’s demand. He then throw their rifles into the river and covered tho Boers with his revolver. Two iu confusion fired at random, wounding their own men. Complaints are ma le of short supplies >f food stuffs at Bloemfontein. JOINING FORCES.
