“THE JOHN TOWNLEY.”

(To the Editor of Times.)

Sin, —The long-expected dredger should now soon be to hand, and as we will soon be called on to “give it a name,” I would suggest that it be christened the “John Townloy," after our worthy Mayor and Chairman of the Harbor Board. If the dredger is the success we hope it will be, then we can have a grateful reminder of the gentleman who did so much towards obtaining it; if it is not a success —well, we will always remember that .John Townley acted for what he believed the I best, and that he is a public-spirited citizen of whom the town may well be proud.—l I am, etc.. Gisrornk ion Ever.
