Tolstoi Still Improves.
St. Petersburg, July 27. Count Leo Tolstoi continues to improve, but his physicians cannot clearly diagnose his ailment.
“ You good folks know all that medical science teaches," the Count said to his doctors, “but unfortunately that scienco itself knows nothing at all.” A few days ago he said to a friend : “ The carriage is already at the door and I must go.” Later, when he was slightly better, he said : “ Oh, I atn allowed to wait a while. - ’
The chief cause for anxiety lies in his extreme weakness. He is emaciated and his skin is sallow, though his eyes retain their brilliancy and his mind is clear.
