AUCKLAND DELEATS TARANAKI
TWO ACCIDENTS DUMXG THE I*l, AY. (By Telegraph—Dress Association.) New Plymouth, last nii'ht. The Aucklaii'l-Tanumki football match was played to-day in line weather. There was a attendance. The game was won by the visitors by fivo points to nil, Buckland scorin'' after a clever run by Kiernan, who beat the Taranaki backs, Cunningham converting the try. The {jjame was well contested throughout, but the Auckland back play was too good, though Taranaki made a splendid defence. Mr Campbell, of Wellington, refereed. Carter ( Taranaki) was disabled in the first
spell, having the small bone of his leg broken, and Cunningham ( Auckland) in the second spell received a nasty cut oil the eye. Sutherland, Asher, Buckland, Cunningham, and S. McGregor were the pick of the Auckland team, and Fookcs, Allen, Mynott, O’Dowda, Glasgow, and Glenn of Taranaki.
