OBITUARY.

MR JOHN MULDOON

O.v the same day as tho great President passed away, on old settler of this district •also crossed the Valley of Death, that settler being Air John Muldoon, who for a quarter of a century- had been a farmer in this district. He had suffered from an attack of influenza, and pleurisy and pneumonia supervening, the patient (who had gone to the Hospital) was suddenlycarried off, dying at five on Saturday afternoon. The funeral took place yesterday, and though the notice that could be given to friends was necessarily very short, there was a very large attendance, settlers coming from all parts of the district to be present. The burial service was conducted by the Rev. | Father Mulvihill. At tho church in the I morning the sad event was referred to and prayers were offered up for the repose of the deceased's soul. Mr Muldoon was 4S years of ago. He leaves a widow and family of eleven, six boys and five girls. He was well known throughout the district, and was an industrious, straightforward man who was much respected. Deep sympathy is felt for Mrs Muldoon and tbe family,
