Bazaars.
(To the Editor of the Times.) Sir, —I should be sorry to say or do anything that would affect the success of the bazaar to bo held next month by the good people of Patutahi, and it is in the best interest of the bazaar that I tako exception to a statement that “ a distinct departure lias boen taken in deciding that everything shall bo sold at ridiculously low prices.” Why should tho bazaar committee ask for support while at the same time it is openly stated that they are going to mako a ridiculous cut under the prices of business people generally ? I hope that tho committee will at once disclaim that that is their intention. It has happened—l won’t say whore—that people have given goods to bazaars and seen them sacrificed for less than half the price the materials cost, to say nothing of days of labor; and worst of all, those goods have been purchased by “ people in tho know,” and then boasted of afterwards,—l am, etc.,
Well-Wisher
