The Zealundiu arrives from Southern ports on Saturday morning, and leaves for Auckland and Sydney at 10 a.m. Messrs Uichardson and Co.'s s.s. Wekn arrived from Napier at -I yesterday morning. She brought 11,170 ft timber, 1101 posts, and 101 packages sundries. The Wekn left last evening for Napier, working T'aiparau (Mahia) on the way. The Fanny left for Napier at 1 p.m. yesterday.

The three-masted scow Ilawkc, 110 tons (Captain Irving), was berthed at the training wall by the harbormaster at 2.00 yesterday afternoon. Tile scow left Kaipara on the 27th nit. A heavy

hours were spent under the lee of Cape Maria Van Bieman. The Cape was

rounded on the third day out. When Whale Island was made, IS hours were spent sheltering. Last Cape was rounded on Sunday last. Light variable winds

were experienced down the Coast to this port, which was reached at 1 o'clock yesterday morning. The schooner Awanui was accompanied down from Wlmle Island. The scow is a comparatively new boat, owned by Mr Geo. Niehul, of Auckland, l’rcvious to this

trip, tiie llawkc had only engaged in the .timber trade in Auckland Harbor, and had made one voyage to Lyttelton. She has a steam winch or hod for handling the cargo . a dead lift of f» tons is capable of being handled. She also lias tho record of being one of tho biggest-decked

vessels for her size atloat. The cargo consists of I‘io.oooft of totara timber, part of which is to 1)0 utilised m the construction of the stations of the Gis-borne-Karaka railway.

Tho schooner Awanui (Captain Nicholas) arrived in the Hay from Tairua on Tuesday night, and was brought up the river at ii.li) p.iu. Captain Nicholas informs us that ho was detained in Tairua 17 days after ho had completed loading. The bar at that place is in a very bad condition, and it is only during line weather that it is navigable. Tairua was left on the 2nd inst., with a light easterly wind. Two days' shelter had to be taken at Whale Island from the gale prevailing. When sheltering off Kawakawa on Sunday the ■rchooner Aotea was seen passing in to the Hay of Plenty. A barque was also sighted trying to weather round East Cape, in the face of tho heavy southerly gale. The schooner's cargo consists of 00,080 feet of timber for Kennedy and Evans, 11,950 fret for Stafford, 10,570 feet for Mackrcll and Colley, 10,468 feet for J. W. Nolan,
