Edward McDonald, who has been in - v business at the Thames for a number of years, committed suicide yesterday by harming himself in a shed near his dwellinghousc. lie had been suffering from influenza, and since he left the hospital complained of pains in his chest and head. AViien cut down '.the body was cold, it is thought that after dinner he must have committed the deed. At the inquest a verdict of suicide whilst temporanly insane was returned. , . , , W aipawa, last night. The body of Ernest Langley, drowned hi the Tukituki at Waipukurau over a fortnight ago, was recovered yesterday. llannevirke, last night. An elderly man named William Steele was found dead :r t fceq. _ i+e had eomplained of influenza. Ah inquest will me held to-day. , . , , Pahiatua, last night. Yesterday afternoon a middle-aged man named Geo'rge Bowlev, a bricklayer, was killed in the main street. His horse bolted and carried him against a tree.
