A FISHERMAN CROWNED.
BOAT CAPSIZED IN A SQUALL.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, last night. It is reported that D. C. Scollay, a fisherman at Half-Moon Bay, and son of an old resident there, perished in a squall off Paterson Inlet on Saturday. Captain Hanning, captain of the ketch Anna, scoing tho squall coming up, became apprehensive of Scollay’s safoty, ho being in an open sailing boat, laden with fisli and ballasted. Hanning made for tho boat, but tho squall was too quick, and tho boat capsized and sank. No sign of the occupant was seen, although the Anna cruised about till dark, and her sails being badly damaged. Seollay, who was married about two years ago, leaves a widow and ono child, and a son by a former marriage, who is now a young man.
