PERSONAL.

AVo regret to learn that Air J. AVhinray is still lying ill. The many friends of the genial James hope to soon see him out again, restored to robust health. Air E. T. Alorshead, who had been acting Postmaster at Gisborne during tlio absonee of Air Sampson, the Chief Postmaster, loft for Wellington last night. Mr Sampson has resumed duty. Air F. J. Shelton left for Napier last evening. He goes overland to Wellington, and returns to Gisborne on Saturdaynext.

Air F. Lowndes, engaged on the railway works, got an attack of influenza which developed into congestion of the lungs. For a time his condition was very serious, hut he is now making good progress towards recovery.

Air Geo. Kemp, of the local post and telegraph staff', is at present on a month’s leave, commencing to-day-. Air Kemp intends to make a tour through the AVaikaremoana district.

Air I). R. DeCosta left for the South last evening, and returns to Gisborne next week.

Sergeant-Major Tuck left for the South by the Aloura last evening. Air Gray, who was in Gisborne on Supreme Court business, left by the steamer last night on his return to Weilington.

The Rev. Canon Fox left for the South last evening on Synod and other church business.
