Customs Returns.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. The Auckland Customs returns for August show that the net Customs duties amounted to X-18,037. as against X 48.474 last year. The net beer duties were ,£1320, as against X 1373 last year. The gold exported was 18,6700z5, of the value of X 69.489, ns against 16,0600zs last year, valued at X 60,299. The silver exported was 55,9950z5, of the value of X 6701, as against 22,7550zs valued at X 2655 last year. The export of butter was 233 cwt, valued at Xlloo, as against loßcwt, valued at X 769 last year. Tho cheese exported was 118 cwt, valued at X 234, as against 134 cwt, valued at X 324 last year The frozen beef exported was 1080 ewt, valued at X 1324, as against nil last year.
