These prices are the ollicial quotations furnished by the Frozen Moat Trade Association. The basis of quotation is sales of lines of not less than 100 carcases of mutton or lamb, or 25 quarters beef. All tho quotations for mutton are for fair averago quality. The quotations for New Zealand iambs do not include tho sales of small lambs or the heaviest of inferior quality. At the weekly sales of hides the demand was slow and prices unchanged. Basils have advanced a halfpenny. Leather is unchanged. Wellington, last night. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram from tho Agent-General, dated tho 31st Mutton market, firm, signs of improvement in tho market, prices unaltered; lamb market weak, under 371 b 5d per lb, over 401 b 4.[d ; supplies of Ilomc-grown lambs heavy, and are lowering prices of New Zealand lambs. There arc signs of; improvement in the beef market; New Zealand hindquarters 3, 7 ,d per lb, fores 2jjd per lb. I expect no immediate change in tho hemp market, which is firm.
