Dairymen’s Association.

(To the Editor of the Times.) Sik, —I was much interested in Mr Maurisell's letter, for he seems to have a very clear insight into the feeding and housing of stock. The cow is like a steam-engine, as they both want feeding, the one with wood and the other with food and warmth. It is a mistake turning a milking cow out on wet pastures on a wet, bleak night; sho is only treading in the food of the morrow. While on this subject of cattlefeeding I think the time is opportune to form what we would call a Dairymen’s Association, where we could compare notes of general information in regard to our own occupation. Mr Maunsell says let us go on as we are going for the next three years, but I do not like this delay. Shakespeare says, “ There is a tide in the affairs of man, which taken at the flood leads on to fortune.” The London market is the tide, and we should avail ourselves of the present opportunity to share in its benefits. In proof of the necessity for action being taken at once to form a co-operative company, I would point out the fact that we have been keeping two factories going for the past two years, and yet Mr Maunsell recommends further delay. I think the following lines would be in accordance with Mr Maunsell's suggestions— Wreath not your face in sunny smiles

We will have none of your co-operative

wiles; From the power to control our own finance The Lord deliver us, For the power to aid proprietaries advance Let us pray! —I am, etc., Weary Willie.
