FAILURE TO CROSS TIIE CHANNEL.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, Aug. 26. Holbein, the ex-ehatnpion cyclist, attempted to swim the English Cnanncl from Gricsne to Dover, but abandoned the attempt when exhausted, after being thirteen hours in the water, five miles from Dover.
