At the Supreme Court, William Buchanan, aged 24, for breaking and entering the George-street school and stealing therefrom, was sentenced to three years’ hard labor. Lachlin Campbell, aged 07, for stealing a watch and chain, was sentenced to nine months. TIIE TRAM FATALITY. At the inquest on the body of Hugh McDermott, killed by a tram car, the jury returned a verdict that deceased was accidentally run over, no blame being attachable to anyone. They added a recommendation that a second light should bo carried in front of tram ears, and calling attention to the urgent need of a public morgue.
