Herbert Spencer’s Views.
(To the Editor of the Times.) Sir, — I notice in the report of a lecture given yesterday by Mr Strong on “ Science and Religion ” he states that Herbert Spencer is an atheist, This, if I am not mistaken, is what that author expressly disclaims. He does maintain that ho is an agnostic. I think it is only fair to make this correction.—l am, etc., J. G. Cox.
