LIGHT PUXISHISHMENT.
By Telegraph—Press Association. New Plymouth, last night. W. D. Scott, of Opunake, auctioneer, who was yesterday found guilty in the District Court of theft of money, came up for sentence tills morning. Judge Kettle srud Seott appeared to have no criminal intent, so rather than imprison him he would order him to enter into two bonds of .£SO eac-h for 12 months for good behaviour, also to pay the costs of the prosecution and £67, the amount of two dishonest bills.
