PERSONAL.
The Hon, Mr Jennings is moving in the Legislative Council for a select committee to prepare amendments of the Friendly Societies’ Act.
Last month Mr Arthur Williams, youngest son of the Bishop of Waiapu, was married at St. Edmund’s Church, Mansfield Woodhousc, Notts., by the Bov. C. Webb, vicar, to Miss Caroline Emily Turner, third daughter of Mr J. E. Turner, of Mansfield Woodhouse. _ Mr Thomas Adams has recovered from his recent attack of influenza, and was able to resume business yesterday. Sergeant Langham, D. 5.0., returned to Gisborne yesterday morning, being officially woleomed by His Worship the Mayor.
Mr W. Samson, the popular athlete, left Gisborne last night for Wellington, where he has received a good appointment. Prior to his departure, Mr Samson was entertained at a social gathering, and he was presented with a handsome dressingcase.
