AUCKLAND SPECIAL.
MR WI PERE.
(Special to Times.) Auckland, last night.
Mr Wi Pere, Maori member for the Eastern electorate, arrived from Rotorua to-day, where he remained for the past two months for the good of his health. He left for Wellington via the West Coast this afternoon, hastening to seek advice from his medical adviser at Wellington. He is, I regret to say, in a very poor state of health. Mrs Wi Pere, who has been nursing her husband at Rotorua, is returning to Gisborne by the Elingainite. THE ELINGAMITE.
! The Iluddart-Parker steamer Elingainite arrived here from Sydney this morning after an exceedingly pleasant trip. During her stay at Sydney the Elingamite went into dock, where she was thoroughlyoverhauled. The outside of the steamer was cleaned and painted, while the dining saloon, social hall, and smoke-room were all newly upholstered. The Elingamite now presents quite an attractive appearance. The forecabin also was thoroughly cleaned and painter!, and is now unsurpassed for comfort. The steamer’s departure for Gisborne was delayed until a quarter-past seven this evening.
