ALLEGED ILLEGAL OPERATION

CHARGE AGAINST DR. WILKINS,

THE JURY DISAGREE

By Telegraph—Press Association,

Auckland, last night. The charge of manslaughter by moans of an illegal operation against Dr Wilkins was continued to-day. Dr Wilkins, in his evidence, emphatically denied the charges, and witnesses were called for the defence for the purpose of accounting for the hours in the afternoon during which the operation was alleged to have been performed. After several hours’ retirement the jury announced that they could not agree, and were dismissed. The case is to be re-heard at the next sittings of the Supremo Court.
