Whataupoko Road Board.

(To the Editor of the Times.) Sir.—ln reference to a letter appearing in your contemporary as to the cost of administration of the Whataupoko Road Board, I should like to quote from the official returns supplied to the RegistrarGeneral. Tho cost of administration for the year 1900 in here given, and amounts to T 43 0s 9d. This includes salaries, office espouses, and management, and is 01 per cent, on the total revenue. On account of heavy expenses in putting through byelaws'tho cost of administration for the year ending March 31st, 1901, was T 63 15s 3d, which gives 10 per cent. Taking mean of the two it will give S per cent., as the average for the two years, and this was stated by me at tho meeting. —I am, etc., A. Fohde Matthews.
