(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wellington, last night. The Council met at 2.80. The State School Children Drill Bill was read a second time.
House of Representatives
The House met at 2.30 p.m. A message was read from the Governor stating that the King had expressed his grateful thanks for the address of condolence passed by the House on the death of the Empress Fredrick. In reply to questions it was stated that pamphlets containing simple rules for the proper care and feeding of infants would very shortly be issued by the Government, also that the Government intended to again introduce the Small Birds Nuisance Bill. The House rose at 5.30. EVENING SITTING. The House resumed at 7.30. After a further lengthy debate the second reading of the Bating on Unimproved Values Act Amendment Bill was carried by 27 votes to 23, and the House rose at 10.30.
