Agricultural Show.
(To the Editor of the Times.) Sir, —In regard to the forthcoming Show I would like to offer a suggestion in regard to the produce classes. As to baoon, would it not be well if some of the local importers of bacon would, submit samples for competition against the local article ? In (has way I think the prejudice against ! the local article would be removed, as the local and the imported produets could be tested side by aide. As to potatoes, I would suggest to the committee that in addition to the prize for early potatoes a prize should he given for the best sample of last season’s potatoes. Many a one can grow a good article, but there are few who knew how T to keep them in good condition for when they are most needed. If there were more experience in that line there would be less need for importation. I am willing to vivo, five shillings towards a for old: potatoes. If a few others wili da likewise a good prize can he arranged for, and the competition for it should prove very interesting.—l am, etc., S. Scrags, Patutahi.
