Frasertown Notes.
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
employers’ liability. Sheep farmers and employers of labor generally are considerably exercised just now over the “ Workers’ Compensation for Accidents Act, 1900,” and its farreaching ramifieatious. The articles and letters in the Times on the subject have had the effect of drawing very general attention to the provisions of the Act, and employers are becoming fully alive to the necessity of protecting themselves. RETURNING TROOPERS.
Of the troopers whose return has been so anxiously looked forward to, Trooper B. Reed is the only one who has returned up to the present. He was entertained at a social last week, and is looking fit and well. Troopers Frith and Peakman expected by the steamer yesterday, but did not arrive. Very general regret is felt at the sad death of Trooper McKechnie just as he landed in New Zealand, and much sympathy is felt for his parents. THE BAR. Our bar is stilll unworkable, and people are travelling overland.
