Joskc, President of Fiji for 23 years, has informed the Daily Telegraph that the desire for Federation with Australia is pretty general. He considers Federation with New Zealand out of all reasonable reckoning. Naturally, Sydney is Fiji’s best trading port. In the absence of an alliance with Australia, he thinks the white residents should be allowed to select eight unofficial members of the legislative body, M'ho are now selected by Downing street. Ho eulogised Sir George O'Brien’s work in the colony.
