AUCKLAND SPECIAL.
THE EX-JUSTICE. (Special to Times.) Auckland, last night. Jessica Minns, charged with murdering the victims of the Grand Hotel fire, is being defended by the late Justico, Mr Martin, now practising as a barrister and solicitor here. GRAND OrEKA. Gisbornoitos who wore in Auckland during the past month have been making enquiries as to whether there would .be any possibility of tho Musgrove Grand Opera Company landing at Gisborne and giving lovers of music at that place a treat. On making enquiries in reference to Gisborne’s request, I regret to state that the management would be delighted to favor the good people of Gisborne, but owing to such great disadvantages that the Company would encounter the idea would have to be abandoned. Every evening tho Opera House Is crowded to the utmost capacity. Hundreds assemble at the doors at halfpast live o’clock. This is the first occasion for a quarter of a century that Auckland lias been visited by a Grand Opera Company. Consequently hundreds are turned from the doors.
