By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright Melbourne, July 23. Dr. Paton, the veteran missionary, has interviewed Mr Barton, to whom he voiced his fears in reference to France’s intention of sending a large number of convicts to the New Hebrides. Mr Barton reiterated his assurance that a watchful eye was being kept on all matters pertaining to the South Seas, and quietened Dr. Paton’s fears in regard to the importation of convicts.
