Christian Endeavor.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wellington, last night. A business sitting of the New Zealand • Christian Endeavor Convention was held this morning. The reports showed a i total membership of 7645, and 215 societies, one of which supports 17 Native teachers. Fifteen members have joined the ministry. Officers were elected as follows:—President, Rev. Hugh Kelly (Auckland); Vice-Presidents, Revs. R. Erwin and Dallaston ; treasurer, T. Sims. A letter was received from Dr Clark, founder of the movement, expressing a hope that he will be able to visit the colony. It was decided that a deputation wait on the Premier, and urge him to reintroduce the Bill, dealing- with opium importation. It was resolved to support the Auckland invitation to Mr Sankcy to visit the colony. It was agreed to affiliate with the Australian Christian Endeavor Union. '
