SHOOTS A BARMAID AND ANOTHER GIRL. A RIOT—MAN ESCAPES.

At the closo of a performance at His Majesty’s Theatre last night, a young man entered the bar adjoining the dress circle, and fired threo shots from a revolver at Jenkins, tho barmaid.
Two of the shots took effect seriously. Tho third shot struck a second girl. A riot of a dangerous nature ensued, but the assailant of tho girl escaped.
THE ASSAILANT ARRESTED. JEALOUSY THE CAUSE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Received 12.55 a.m. July 22. Sydney, July 21. A man named John Beat has been arrested on a charge of shooting at the barmaid Jenkins. The cause of tho outbreak is attributed to jealousy.
