Mr Monk denies that the Farmers’ Union is a revival of the National Association, as stated by .the Premier, but says it is a revival of common sense. Mr A. Kayes’ successor on Hansard has not yet been appointed. Five men are to be taken on the staff in order to test their capabilities for the position. If Parliament reduces the number of small governing bodies in New Zealand this session, and reorganises municipal affairs generally, it will not sit for nothing.
