The infant daughter of Mr Brocklebank, Coromandel, was suffocated between its parents by tho bod-clothes. A verdict of suffocation by misadventure waa returned.
Some 550 warehouse employees have signed a petition protesting against their inclusion in the Shops and Offices Act. Tho Amateur Athletic Club suggests to tho Union that the date of the New Zealand Championship Meeting should bo December 18th, and tho Australasian Championship on tho 20th and 21st, instead of the 28th and 31st, as proposed by the Union.
Wellington, Saturday. The balance-sheet of the Wellington Meat Export Company shows a credit balance of £12,328 to profit and loss account, including £7915 carried forward last year. The directors recommend the payment of a dividend of 8 por cent., absorbing £4488. Christchurch, Saturday
Walter Brewer and Nellie Maud Brower were charged with unlawfully asking for certain instruments, with intent to commit a crime, before tho Court to-day, and were remanded for one week after the evidence of a girl named Light had been taken at the Christchurch Hospital.
