The Bank of England returns show the stock of gold coin and bullion to be £3-5,157,000; reserve, £24,456,000; proportion of reserve to liabilities, 47’07 ; in circulation, £30,623,000 ; on public deposit, £42,192,000 ; in Government securities, £17,295,000.

Three months bills are at 2 9-10ths per cent.

Victorian 4 per cent, debentures are at 110 and 34 per cents, at 101 J. Consols and other stocks are unchanged. The wheat market is dull, but prices are steady. The Australian March shipment is quoted at 23s 3d. Onions—A cargo sold at 27s 3d. Sugar is dull of sale. German is at 9s 14d; first marks, granulated, is at 10s 104 d. The copper market is quiet. On spot is at £67 ss; three months, £67 los. The tone of the tin market is nominal. On spot is at £l2B 10s; three months, £ll6. Pig iron is at 51s 14d. Lead is at £l2 ss, and spelter is at £lO 12s 6d.
