WAlt AND OTHER’ MATTERS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, July 11. In the House of Commons Mr Chamberlain said in reference to Botha’s enquiries from Lord Kitchener in regard to a peace settlement, Great Britain declined liability for debts contracted since the war, but would not repudiate State loans issued previously, so far as can be provided out of Transvaal funds. Lord Lansdownc informed the House that Groat Britain intended to differentiate between bona fide investors in the Netherlands railway before the war and those investing later. A foreign Government had communicated with Great Britain on the subject. Mr Arnold Foster stated that it was intended to attach the hospital ship Maine to the Mediterranean tlcct.
