(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Groymouth, last night. Fire has again made its appearance in the Blackball mine. Tho Grey fire brigade have sent up their engine. The extent of the fire is not yet known. Auckland, last night. The charge against Emil Borger, of attempting to poison his wife, was resumed to-day. Mr Poncl, analyst, stated that the bottle of medicine submitted contained aconite, and 210 drops had been taken from it. Tho symptoms of Mrs Berger were those of aconito poisoning. He behoved tho symptoms and speedy recovery were rather exaggerated. Accused was committed for trial.
Graham, a bush contractor, has been drowned in the river Hokianga, which is in heavy Hood.
Waihi, last night. This morning two contractors, Gibbs and MeNaughton, employed in the Waihi Company’s mine, received severe injuries to tho face and arms by an explosion of gelignite. MeNaughton had an arm jroken, and will probably lose the sight of one eye.
