Royal Celebration Surplus.
[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Auckland last night. At the meeting of the City Council last evening the Finance Committee submitted the following recommendation in regard to the communication from the Royal Reception Committee asking for the Council's contribution to the expenses of the reception : —“ That a progress payment of .6400 be made and a detailed statement of accounts will be submitted to the Council before the final payment is made.” This recommendation was adopted.
