SLIDING SCALE ADVISED.

Wellington, last night. Giving evidence before the Conciliation Board to-day in the printers’ machinists dispute, Mr Palmer, lithographic artist, suggested the necessity, owing to machinists varying so much in capacity, of instituting a sliding Beale of wages to be settled by employers and Unions.
