The Boers lay under the waggons, firing unflinchingly betwcon the wheels, whilo some inspnnncd and drove off the waggons farthest from tho British, who, by splendid gallantry, pushing amongst tho wheels, traces, and poles of tho wnggons, bnyonotod tho onemy wherevor possiblo. Delnrey himself took part in tho firing. Both his neighboring fighters wore killed. Tho fight endod in a series of hand to hand oncountors and fiorco melees.
