ALLEGED ROBBERY.

VICTIM ON HIS IVAY TO GISBORNE.

[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Napier, last night. A man named Andrew Nielson was committed for trial to-day for assault and robbery of John Perry. Perry had been working on a contract at Pakoka, and was on his way to Gisborne. He got into the company of Neilson at the Spit, and “ shouted ” for him several times, afterwards leaving with him to go to a board-ing-house. On the way thither, on a vacant overgrown with tall grass, Neilson, it- is'' alleged, knocked Perry down, and rifled his pockets. Perry, who was under the influence of liquor at the time, afterwards gave information to the police, and accused was arrested.
